An international, comprehensive university devoted to
research, teaching and innovation to the highest level
The University of Southern Denmark is a young and dynamic education and research institution. The university was founded in Odense in 1966 and has since become one of Denmark’s largest universities as a result of mergers and a steadily growing number of enrolments of students. With its five faculties - Science, Engineering, Health sciences, Social sciences, and Humanities - the university covers both traditional university subjects and new subject areas. The university’s strength lies in its ability and will to develop research and education at the interface between traditional disciplines.
The University of Southern Denmark continuously strives to strengthen its relations with both the public sector and the private business community so university knowledge and competences can be applied in an increasing number of contexts. The university has established and participate in a large number of partnerships within both research and education – and the number is growing. Employees from the university actively contribute to collaboration involving anything from informal knowledge exchange to networks, close collaboration with companies, board memberships or formal licensing and research agreements.
