The Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA) represents more than 240 companies ranging from turbine manufacturers and energy companies to component suppliers, engineering consultancy firms, service, transport, logistics etc. We are the main access to the strong and unique network of experience and competencies in the Danish wind industry.
Founded in 1981, DWIA today represents 99.9 per cent of Danish wind turbine manufacturing measured in MW.
The members of DWIA have a leading position on the world market and about every third wind turbine sold worldwide is manufactured by the Danish wind industry. Wind power is the fastest growing energy form in Denmark today and will prior to 2012 supply 30 % of electricity consumption.
Denmark is the hub of global wind power development. It is an unrivalled cluster of knowledge where manufacturers, suppliers, research and educational institutions combine expertise, innovation and advanced technology into a strong industry.
